A roundtable discussion on impact investing took place on September 22, 2017 in Moscow. It focused on the development of this sector in Russia and abroad. Keynote speaker was Mario Marconi, founder of the investment platform Audaces, and included other experts of the field.
Mario Marconi has over 30 years of experience in the investment banking and wealth management industries. Prior to joining Audaces, Mario built and managed the leading franchise in wealth management industry, offering bespoke services to UHNW clients in the field of Philanthropy, Impact and Sustainable Investing, Family Governance, Family Office and Art. Prior to that, Mario was Global Head of Wealth Planning at UBS in charge of a 500 people team.
During the meeting, Mario Marconi explained what impact investments are, how to strike a balance between purely philanthropic and commercial goals of social investment. Mr. Marconi also talked about the social investment industry and its prospects.
This event is a continuation of the initiative of the National Alternative Investment Management Association (NAIMA) and a number of partners in engaging the investment and business community in the creation of financial instruments aimed at supporting commercially successful social projects in Russia. The start of this undertaking was given in December 2013, when the Association, with the support of the Moscow School of Management SKOLKOVO, held the first roundtable on investment and social entrepreneurship for Russian charitable foundations, family investment funds and heads of departments of CSR of the largest domestic companies.
