Dear NAIMA Members and Partners

It is with great sadness to inform you that our longtime supporter and
Board Member Victor Akulian passed away from COVID this week, on November 25th. As Head of Private
Equity Russia & CIS at KPMG he was one of the most active members of our
community who played a major role in raising the profile of alternative
investment market in our country. Victor spent more than two decades
with this firm starting as Audit Assistant in Yerevan back in 1997, then
moved for a senior role to Russia where he led KPMG offices in
Yekaterinburg and Kazan and ultimately became Partner in 2008. He joined
NAIMA in 2016 and became our BoD member ever since.

In addition to being a prominent business leader Victor always cared
about others in need, less fortunate and vulnerable. We had a
privilege to participate in several philanthropic initiatives alongside
Victor and other investment professionals. People always will remember
him as a very generous and committed person.

His sudden passing is a big loss for our industry and our organization.
We extend our condolences to his family and friends.

To honour our friend and colleague the Association will make a donation
to Ayb Educational Foundation a project Victor was personally passionate
about and dedicated a lot of energy and time.
